    Grading Info from LCPS  [ConnectEd/posted...6-5-20]

To the families of all LCPS students in grades 6 through 12:

At its meeting June 2, 2020, the Loudoun County School Board determined that juniors and seniors who elect to convert  grades A+ to D- to a P will be INCLUDED in rank during their junior and senior year. Their final transcripts will reflect the class rank.

To support this, guidance in the Grading, Credits and GPA Information documents and FAQs has been updated to reflect this opportunity.

Additionally, LCPS has published a Final Grade calculator for families to determine the highest possible calculated grade.  Directions are provided in the  COVID Grading Guide which has  been created to answer questions you might have regarding secondary grading and the consideration of choosing “P” as a final grade.

Please contact your school counselor if you have questions.

    Thank you.

Final Grade Calculator from LCPS Central Office  [LCPS connect-ed/posted 5-28-20]

Loudoun County Public Schools has created a Final Grade Calculator to help families understand the grade-calculation process for 2019-2020. This calculator will allow families the ability to enter their student’s first-, second- and third-quarter grades to see how each of the three possible grading scenarios, approved by LCPS during COVID-19 school closure, will impact the final grade a student will receive in June. The highest possible calculated grade will be posted in PVUE/SVUE for families to review prior to teachers applying any grade improvement from work submitted during the fourth quarter.  To view written directions and a video guide for the Final Grade Calculator, click here.
