My name is Susan Hubbuch, and I am excited to be at Blue Ridge and Harmony Middle Schools! This is my second year as an ELL teacher in Loudoun County. I am looking forward to working with my students to develop their English language skills and have a fun and successful year of learning!
I grew up in Virginia, and graduated from Duke University with bachelor's degrees in Public Policy and Slavic Languages/Literature. Last year I taught English Language Learners at Guilford Elementary in Sterling. Before I became a teacher, I was employed for 12 years by the federal government, working on exhibits in Russia and Italy and managing international educational exchange programs for the U.S. Department of State. After staying home for several years to raise my two daughters, I began my teaching career. Most recently, I taught Spanish speaking preschoolers in the Leesburg area through a nonprofit program called All Ages Read Together. At the same time, I completed a career switcher program where I earned my license to teach ESOL (ELL) to K-12 students, and a second endorsement to teach Social Studies in middle schools.
