Degrees and Certifications:
I am thrilled to be your child’s fourth grade teacher, and I know that we will work closely together to ensure that your child makes great strides during this very important year. This is my eighteenth year with Loudoun County Public Schools, but my very first year teaching fourth grade at Newton-Lee. Last year, I was able to serve as the dean at NLE, and I loved getting to know all of the students and their families. Before that, I taught first and second grade, and I also spent five years working for the Department of Instruction as a Pathways Literacy Facilitator. While in that position, I had the pleasure of training and coaching hundreds of kindergarten through second grade teachers, and I learned so much from them along the way. Truth be told, my heart really loves being in the classroom and with children on a daily basis.
To tell you a little bit more about myself, I live in the Newton-Lee community, and I have two children, Jack and Hannah. Jack is in seventh grade and Hannah is also in fourth! I love to read and spend time outside with my family. I'm also growing a garden on my deck, and I love eating the fresh veggies I grew with my own two hands!
