Teacher Biography
As a child of immigrants, Profesora Monge learned to speak Spanish before she spoke English. This and the experiences of living abroad have greatly influenced the way she sees the world. She earned an Economics Degree from Loyola University in Baltimore, and after several years working for the Embassy of Mexico, left the area for the Great American Southwest. In New Mexico, she switched careers, earned a Masters Degree in Education, and learned to dance Flamenco. Years later she returned to the DC area and became certified to teach in a Montessori School. She has always embraced her latino heritage and is thrilled to be teaching Spanish at Freedom High School.
