Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Thomas Acquino
Hello everyone! My name is Mr. Acquino, and I am beginning his 8th year of teaching math, all of which has been at Woodgrove. Previously, I have taught Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Advanced Functions and Modeling (AFAM). Currently, I am teaching AFAM and Geometry. My goal as a math teacher is to use mathematics as a platform to teach students skills that can be used in all walks of life.
I have a lot of experience in music, both as a student and an instructor. I have been the Marching tech for the Woodgrove Marching Wolverines for the past 7 years, as well as having played saxophone in marching band for 8 years prior to becoming an instructor. I am also the current director for the Pep Band, having just completed the 2nd year as the director. Overall, Mr. Acquino has been participating in Fine Arts programs for 19 years. This is one of my biggest passions, and the students make every moment of it an absolute joy!
In addition, I have been the co-sponsor for the Sophomore Class Council, Junior Class Council, and the Student Council Association. I really enjoy for working for the student body in multiple capacities on top of teaching mathematics.
Some of my personal hobbies include being involved with anything Disney related (Disney World really is the happiest place on Earth!), as well as playing goalie for an ice hockey league, which I began a year ago!
Professionally, I have earned my B.S.Ed. with a concentration in Mathematics from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and am currently enrolled in the M.Ed. program for Educational Leadership at James Madison University.
