Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Thomas Acquino
Hello everyone! My name is Mr. Acquino, and I am beginning my 9th year of teaching math, all of which has been at Woodgrove. Previously, I have taught Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Advanced Functions and Modeling (AFAM). Currently, I am teaching AFAM and Geometry. My goal as a math teacher is to use mathematics as a platform to teach students skills that can be used in all walks of life.
I have a lot of experience in music, both as a student and an instructor. I have been the Marching Tech for the Woodgrove Marching Wolverines for the past 8 years, as well as having played saxophone in marching band for 8 years prior to becoming an instructor. I have also been the director for the Pep Band, as well as an assistant with the Indoor Drumline as well. Overall, my time spent participating in Fine Arts programs has reached 20 years. This is one of my biggest passions, and the students make every moment of it an absolute joy!
In addition, I have been the co-sponsor for the Sophomore Class Council, Junior Class Council, and the Student Council Association. I really enjoy for working for the student body in multiple capacities on top of teaching mathematics.
Some of my personal hobbies include being involved with anything Disney related (Disney World really is the happiest place on Earth!), as well as playing ice hockey as a goalie!
Professionally, I have earned my B.S.Ed. with a concentration in Mathematics from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and have been a part of the National Councils for Teachers of Mathematics
I am beyond looking forward to the 2021-2022 School Year and can't wait to see everyone.
WELCOME BACK TO THE WILD!
