This is my second year teaching 8th Grade Physical Science as part of the JML family. I am so excited for the journey that this year will bring! A little about me: I earned a Bachelor's & Master's degree from the best school in the history of the world: J-M-U!. Prior to joining the JML Physical Science team, I taught 7th grade Life Science in Shenandoah County for three years. My husband and I decided to make the move to LCPS to be closer to our families in Northern Virginia.
I am solar-powered and am not a fan of cold, rainy days. Outside of the classroom I enjoy being outdoors, swimming, and eating new, delicious foods. I have a small obsession with shoes, yellow minions, and my crazy dog, Marley.
After spending 1,725 days at JMU, I earned my M.A.T. in Middle Grades Education. I also hold a Bachelor's degree from JMU in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies with a minor in Middle Grades Education. My concentrations are in Math and Science with endorsements in Middle Grades Science (6-8), Middle Grades Math (6-8), Algebra 1, and Biology. Math is definitely cool, and I love the way that Science helps us to explore OUR world!
The purpose of education is to prepare the student for living and adapting in an ever-changing world. My personal goal is to create an environment of LEARNERS who come to class every day, do their personal best, and desire to learn. We must never be afraid to: Experiment. Fail. Learn. Repeat.
I fully expect each student to be prompt, prepared, polite, productive, and positive members of the school and classroom community.
