•      Mrs. Cornell is excited to return to the Lunsford Lions for the 2019-2020 school year.  This is her 12th year of teaching and 7th in the role of a reading specialist.  She graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Elementary and Kindergarten Education, K-6 in 2003 from the Pennsylvania State University.  Mrs. Cornell taught two years in Osceola County, FL, before moving to Virginia.  Then, she taught 3 years in Fairfax County as she completed her Masters of Art in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading Specialist K-12, from the Virginia Polytechnic and State University in 2008.  Afterwards, she changed from a classroom teacher to a Reading Specialist in Fairfax County and fulfilled this role until deciding to stay home with her 3 children in 2012.  Mrs. Cornell will be teaching Accelerated Literacy, Reading Strategies and Coteaching in English 6. She will utilize Leveled Literacy Intervention, LLI for intervention in each of her classes.  Mrs. Cornell looks forward to a great year spreading the joy and love of reading to the Lunsford Community.
