Hello, my name is Alex Radabaugh, and I am one of the Band Directors here at Smart's Mill Middle School! I am a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory of Shenandoah University, with a Bachelors in Music of Music Education. Even though I play ALL band instruments, my main instrument is percussion. During my education, I performed with the Shenandoah University Wind Ensemble, Shenandoah University Symphony Orchestra, SUPERcussion Ensemble, EDGE Ensemble, and Shenandoah University Buzin' Dozen Pep Band.

I began my music teaching career in LCPS as the itinerant general music teacher at Frances Hazel Reid Elementary School, teaching Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade. This year, I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th Band at Smart's Mill Middle School. In addition, I teach 3rd -5th Grade General Music classes in the morning at Frances Hazel Reid Elementary School.

Besides what I do in the classroom, I reside in Loudoun County with my wife, newborn son and pups (Coda and Celeste, mini Australian Shepherds), and other than music (of course!) I enjoy sports, such as basketball and football, and travel. Some travel highlights include Hawaii, Spain, and Italy.

I am excited about beginning the school year, and cannot wait to experience music with all of my students!
