Mrs. Hanna

Mrs.Hanna is thrilled to be teaching in the k-2 Autism classroom at Frederick Douglass Elementary!  She began her career as a teacher assistant for special needs children at Frederick Douglass Elementary, was an active volunteer for 10 years with faith based community services supporting new comers to the States, and taught life skills to incarcerated troubled youth. This will be her third year as a teacher in Loudoun County!  She graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and holds a Masters degree in Special Education from George Mason Unversity.  She is also certified to teach ELL (English Language Learners) K-12. Mrs. Hanna is trained in voice output communication systems such as the Proloquo2 and LAMP for her non-verbal students. Mrs. Hanna uses the principles of ABA in her classroom and holds each one of her students to high standards. She has been living for 17 years in the town of Leesburg with her husband and three sons. We welcome Mrs. Hanna's enthusiasm and warmness to our shining stars family.
