Mrs. Hanna

Mrs.Hanna is thrilled to be a part of the Frederick Douglass Elementary family!  She began her teaching career as a substitute teacher, assistant teacher, and later a lead teacher in a self-contained classroom with children with disabilities. Mrs. Hanna loves spending time with her family, is active in her church, traveling and going to the beach. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and holds a Masters degree in Special Education in the K-12 general curriculum from George Mason University. She holds a postgraduate professional license, and is certified to teach ELL (English Language Learners) K-12. Mrs. Hanna is trained in voice output communication systems such as the Proloquo2 and LAMP for her non-verbal students. She is married with 3 boys and has been living in the town of Leesburg for over 20 years! We welcome Mrs. Hanna's enthusiasm and warmness to our shining stars family.
