Mrs. Byrd's Bio

Mrs. Byrd earned her masters in education, from Jacksonville State University in 2012. She joined LCPS in 2013. SInce then, she has taught fourth grade for the last four years; three at Ashburn Elementary School, and one year at Hillsboro Charter Academy. Prior to that, Mrs. Byrd has taught first graders and English Learners (EL/ELL) at Gadsden City Schools in Gadsden, Alabama. She spent five summers working with EL students and families for the Migrant Program in St. Clair County, Alabama. Additionally, Mrs. Byrd has a Master's in Business Administration and undergrad studies in Accounting. Mrs. Byrd loves reading and math!

Mrs. Byrd is originally from Lima, Peru. Four years ago, she moved with her family to Loudoun County, from Ashville, Alabama. Mrs. Byrd is married to a police officer and has two sons, an eight grader and a Junior. Mrs. Byrd is excited to join the Frederick Douglas family and is extremely happy about teaching her EL students and ALL students this year!
