Miss Carolann Kinzer

I am thrilled to be starting my seventh year here at Trailside Middle School this year. I will be teaching 6th grade United States History. This will be my eighth-year teaching. Seven years ago I taught 5th grade Social Studies and English at a private school in Alexandria.

I grew up on Long Island, New York, and moved down here about 11 years ago with my family.  I attended Mount St. Mary's University for my undergrad and earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies in Secondary Education.

I am passionate about teaching history and am very excited to pass that enthusiasm on to my students. I firmly believe that every student can learn. It is up to the teacher to find out what style/method of teaching will help the student achieve academically. I strive to make each class informative, fun, and memorable. I want all my students to become lifelong learners and never stop asking "why". I am looking forward to this new school year.
