My name is Tracy Dumais and I am the art teacher for 6th-grade and 8th-grade art.

I hope that each of my students will have an enjoyable experience in the art room that will lead to a lifelong appreciation of art and creative life.  I'm a big fan of both traditional and digital art.

extra fine point sharpie

an open heart and creative mind

Returning art students are welcome to recycle their previous sketchbook as long as it has 3/4 clear pages to work upon.

My two mottos are:

  • If you can’t make a mistake, then you can’t make anything!
  • If you’re not having fun, then you’re not doing it right!

Both of these hit the heart of art.  As we create, we learn from our mistakes. But we have fun while doing it.  No subject can do this like Art Class.

I’m originally from South Florida but have been a Loudoun County resident since 1999. I’ve been teaching art off and on since I graduated from college in the '90s. And I love art so much that I even got a degree in it! A BFA in Painting and Drawing.

I’m married to a retired FBI agent. I am the parent of one teen and two adult children. I have a fur baby, it is my dog, Levi. When I’m not spending time with my family and teaching art, you can find me working out, painting, sewing, gardening, knitting, cooking, hiking, and decorating.  Anything creative!
