Mrs. Jodi Reeve

I am so excited about the upcoming year at Trailside Middle School. We are so happy to have you with us!   It is a privilege to be your teacher, I know we are going to have a wonderful journey together.  As this is my 7th year at Trailside, this school year marks my 20th year of teaching.  I started my professional journey in 2000 when I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Delaware with a concentration in Mathematics. (Go Blue Hens!).  I taught for three years in Brandywine School District before moving to Virginia in 2003. I taught in Fairfax County, both fifth grade and first grade, for four years before making the move out to Loudoun County in 2007.  I opened Rosa Lee Carter Elementary School in 2007, where I taught first grade for two years. When my son started Kindergarten in 2009, I took some time off to be home with him, and returned to Rosa Lee Carter in 2013 to teach 5th grade. I knew that middle school is where my journey was taking me and I am honored and privileged to be a part of this amazing pack! After 4 years teaching with the 6th grade team, this is the 3rd year that I am honored to work with 6th and 7th grade students. In 2022  I know with hard work, perseverance and a growth mindset, we will have great success this year!

On a personal note, I am married, have a son who is working at the Huntington Ingalls Shipyard in Newport News, a 7-year-old daughter starting 2nd grade at Newton-Lee Elementary, and two step-daughters; one is attending Syracuse University, however is spending her first semester in Strasbourg, France and another who graduated from Old Dominion University in 2022 and is working at the Baltimore Aquarium.   My family and I enjoy traveling, reading, cooking, going to the beach, visiting the lake, and spending time with our adorable 10-1/2 year old Vizsla, Stella.
