Mrs. Christiansen
Mrs. Christiansen is thrilled to be teaching fourth grade at Emerick Elementary. Mrs. Christiansen is originally from Wheeling, West Virginia, (near Pittsburgh), where her family still resides. She comes from a family of educators. Her mother and grandmother were both preschool teachers, and her father taught middle and high school students before working for the family company. Presently, she lives in Stephenson with her husband, daughter, son, and cat.
Mrs. Christiansen has a Bachelor of Science degree from Shepherd College and a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Shenandoah University. This is Mrs. Christiansen's nineteenth year teaching. She taught for eight years at Evergreen Mill Elementary in fourth grade and five years at Hamilton Elementary, where she taught fifth grade for two years and three years in fourth before joining the Emerick staff. Mrs. Christiansen was honored to be nominated for the Agnes Myer Outstanding Teacher award in 2009-2010. She has also been submitted to Who's Who Among America's Teachers. In 2010, Mrs. Christiansen achieved National Board Certification.
