Mrs. Susan Hubbuch
I am pleased to be the teacher of English Learners (EL) at Blue Ridge Middle School. It is a privilege to work with students who have diverse backgrounds and experiences!
I grew up in Virginia, and graduated from Duke University with bachelor's degrees in Public Policy and Slavic Languages/Literature. I have taught English Learners in Loudoun County since 2016, and have been at Blue Ridge since 2017. Before I became a teacher, I worked for 12 years for the federal government, working on exhibits in Russia and Italy and managing international educational exchange programs for the U.S. Department of State. I also spent three years teaching Spanish speaking preschoolers in the Leesburg area through a nonprofit program called All Ages Read Together. I have two teenage daughters, both of whom were educated in Loudoun County Public schools. I live with my family in Lovettsville.
I believe that students are best served when teachers and parents communicate and establish a partnership. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I am looking forward to working with my students to develop their English language skills and have a fun and successful year of learning!
