    Riverside Rams! Lisa Klug
     Earth Science 

    Mrs. Klug has been with LCPS for the last 16 years. Initially, Mrs. Klug worked as an assistant in the Library Media Services and Special Education Departments.  It was during these years, while working with students, that she decided to enter the field of education.  Mrs. Klug entered Shenandoah University's Career Switcher Program earning her certification to teach Earth Science.


    Before coming to LCPS, Mrs. Klug earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a Master of Arts in Anthropology with a concentration in Archaeology and Paleoethnobotany from New York University.  As an archaeologist for 15 years, she worked as a private contracting consultant on numerous archaeological sites throughout the U.S., was employed as a Laboratory Specialist for The Keith Companies, Inc. and finally became the Assistant Director of the Paleoethnobotany Laboratory at the Institute of Archaeology (Cotsen), University of California at Los Angeles.


    Mrs. Klug was a docent for the Smithsonian Naturalist Center for 11 years and Udvar-Hazy Air and Space museum for 2 years. She enjoys kayaking, camping, rock/fossil hunting, and going to museums.  Mrs. Klug encourages parents and students to contact her through email with any questions they may have throughout the year
