Ms. Kelly Holowecki

Ms. Kelly Holowecki was born in Kailua, Hawai'i. Her father's career in the United States Marine Corps sent Kelly on adventures to Oklahoma, Virginia and North Carolina before his final military assignment brought them back to the Hawaiian Islands. Ms. Holowecki remained for 22 years enjoying the culture, scenery, food, music, and - of course - the weather! In 2017, she made the bittersweet decision to leave behind her island life and move to Virginia to be closer to her family who moved here several years ago.

Ms. Holowecki graduated from the University of Hawaii, earning her Bachelors in Secondary Music Education in 2008 and her Masters of the Arts in Music Education in 2017. While her primary instrument is flute, her performance background includes vocal, orchestral and band settings. She performed as both a cellist and flautist in the Hawai'i Youth Symphony, an alto in the University of Hawai'i Concert and Chamber Choirs, and a flautist in the U.H. Bands and Symphony Orchestra. During her time with with the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior Marching Band, she held several leadership positions to include Field Staff and two years as Drum Major.

Ms. Holowecki formerly held the position of Chorus and Orchestra Director at Mililani Middle School in Mililani, Hawai'i. During her time there, she chaired the school's Tri-M Honor Society and several community music events, served twice as conductor of the Central District Honor Orchestra Festival's Beginning Orchestra, doubled the school's choral enrollment, and was nominated for Teacher of the Year in 2016.

Since 2017, Ms. Kelly Holowecki has been incredibly fortunate to serve as the Chorus and Orchestra Director at Loudoun Valley High School. In addition to teaching ensemble classes, she also teaches adaptive arts, a class designed specifically for our special needs students, and serves as advisor of the Tri-M Honor Society and "A Capela" Club. She is excited to continue building connections through music with each of you and looks forward to the wonderful year of music ahead!
