Hello Brambleton Families,
I am so excited to be a part of the inaugural staff at BAM! This year will mark my 23rd year in education and my 14 years in Loudoun County Public Schools. I have taught in both elementary and middle school, and most recently I have served as an instructional facilitator. I am thrilled to return to the classroom. Reading and writing in the company of students is my passion!
A little bit about me:
I grew up in the midwest, in the suburbs of Kansas City. Upon graduating from Kansas State University, I moved to Miami, Florida where I began my teaching career in a private school. My husband and I then moved to Northern Virginia where I began teaching in Alexandria City Schools. I have two teenage daughters who are my pride and joy! We love attending theatre productions together. I also love to read, spend time with my family, and crafting.
A little bit about our classroom:
We will engage in a reading and writing workshop. I believe that the only way to get better at something is to practice and the same is true for reading and writing. Our classroom will be a place where students can take risk and dare to try out new things. We will work together to collaborate, lead, inspire, motivate, and believe in ourselves and each other.
