My name is Melanie Condon. I am excited to be your teacher this year. I am married to Mike and together we have 2 daughters, Kylie who will a be a Freshman at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV, Lizzie who will be a Sophomore in High School, and a sweet black lab named Max. We live in Charles Town,WV. I graduated with my BS in Education from WVU and got my Masters in Reading from Shenandoah Universtiy. I started my teaching career in Loudoun. I am entering my 26th year of teaching in LCPS and my 17th year at Round Hill. I have taught first, second, and third grades as well as being the reading specialist for 4 years.
Third grade is an amazing year of learning and growing. Students become more independent and responsible this year. 3rd grade students balance independence with collaborative group learning. Students will strengthen reading strategies and become more confident independent readers. Students will learn multiplication/division facts, create stories in Writer's Workshop, explore ancient civilizations, identify and create simple machines, use the scientific method and SO much MORE! We are excited to be a Code to the Future School as we integrate computer science into our 3rd grade curriculum.
Please support your child's academic growth by reading daily and practicing basic math facts.
