Hello families, new and old friends, welcome back!

My name is Anca Vinson and I will be starting my 14th year of teaching this year. I am very excited to return to Countryside Elementary, support English Learners, get to know new friends, and returning families. It is always so much fun to meet young siblings of former students and keep in touch with them and their families in the Countryside community. Prior to joining Countryside Elementary, I taught Special Education/Severe Disabilities and dually identified students in Maryland. I attended Hood College in Frederick, MD and received a Masters Degree in Curriculum Instruction/Special Education, then relocated with my family to Leesburg, VA. I love to read and have always been a lifelong learner, which later led me back to grad school at George Mason, where I received an edorsement for Teaching Linguistically and Culturally Diverse Students in 2017. Born and raised in Romania, an English Language learner myself, I found my calling and have been working with EL students since.

This year, I am looking forward to get to know your children, teach new and old friends in person and have fun while doing so! For any questions, please reach out to me at anca.vinson@lcps.org. Thank you!  ~Mrs. Vinson
