Mrs. Katherine King

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Katherine King

This is Mrs. King's third year in Loudoun County Public School but she spent six years as a Multiple Disabilities teacher in Fairfax County, working with middle school students with autism, Downs syndrome, and varying disabilities.  She greatly enjoyed her time with Fairfax County but is ready to start a new chapter in her career at Lunsford as the Autism Insensitive Support Program Teacher.

She was born and raised in Northern Virginia and loves the area.  Mrs. King attended Longwood University earning a Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree in Special Education and completed her student teaching in an elementary and middle school in Fairfax County. She is licensed to teach K-12 ED/LD/MR students. Mrs. King has taken many courses in Applied Behavior Analysis, research programs that the county endorses as well as other trainings/courses that were relevant to her position.

Her husband and she are outdoor lovers spending their weekend hiking, biking, kayaking and walking with their young son and dog.  They enjoy camping and look forward to taking our son on many camping trips. She lived in Leesburg for a couple of years but wanted more of the ‘county feel’, so they moved just west of Leesburg.  They love the open space and have enjoyed exploring the area.
