    How to Register


    The vision of Virtual Loudoun is to cultivate quality, flexible, self-paced, virtual learning.

     
    If you are considering a Virtual Loudoun course for your student, please review the following information prior to registering.
     
    2019-2020 Term 1 Courses End December 13, 2019
    2019-2020 Term 2 Registration Opens December 2, 2019
      
    Students who have registered and are approved for virtual courses will receive a welcome email from their instructor on the Friday before their virtual course opens, with directions detailing how to begin their classes on Monday, the first day of the virtual term.
     
     

    Parent/Student Registration Steps:

    • Middle school families should first review the Middle School Information page for a list of available courses for our Spring/Summer Terms.

    • If you are taking a HPE course, be sure to reference the Testing page for important information regarding required face-to-face meetings.  


    Students who attend LCPS:

    1. Speak with your child’s counselor to see if he/she feels a Virtual Loudoun course is right for your student. (See Indicators for Successful Virtual Learners, Virtual Loudoun FAQ’s, and Program Calendar to make an informed decision.)
    2. Take note of session start and end dates to ensure your student has a plan for successful completion of a Virtual Loudoun course. All Virtual Loudoun offerings are traditional courses offered in a condensed time period. Students should expect, on average, to dedicate 140 hours in the term period to complete a 1 credit course.
    3. If multiple terms are available, please be sure to select the correct term. 
    4. Complete all required information and select course.
    5. For current LCPS students, there are no course fees in Terms 1 and 2.
    6. Be sure to enter valid a email addresses for the parent; students must use their LCPS provided email address (studentnumber@lcps.org) for their Virtual Loudoun course.  Instructions on how to access student LCPS Gmail accounts can be found here.
    7. Once your child's counselor has approved the registration, you will receive an email notifying you of the approval.
    8. Term 3 Spring/Summer Only - In addition to the approval email you will receive an email regarding payment information.

    Students who do NOT attend LCPS:

    1. Speak with your child’s counselor to see if he/she feels a Virtual Loudoun course is right for your student. Confirm your child’s school will accept Virtual Loudoun credits. (See Indicators for Successful Virtual Learners, Virtual Loudoun FAQ’s, and Program Calendar to make an informed decision.)
    2. Take note of session start and end dates to ensure your student has a plan for successful completion of a Virtual Loudoun course. All Virtual Loudoun offerings are traditional courses offered in a condensed time period. Students should expect, on average, to dedicate 140 hours in the term period to complete a 1 credit course.

    5. Be sure to enter valid email addresses for both Student and Parent (they must be different). An LCPS student email address will be provided if your registration is approved--students must use this LCPS provided email address for their Virtual Loudoun course.  Instructions on how to access student LCPS Gmail accounts can be found here.  
    6. Your child’s registration will be approved by the Office of Virtual Loudoun. You may need to provide additional documentation/recommendation from your child’s school.
    7. Once your child's registration is approved, you will receive an email regarding payment information.

  • Term 3 Enrollment  in Grade 10 Health and Physical Education

    Health and Physical Education 10 WITH Driver Education

    Students MUST be 15 prior to the first day of the 2020-2021 school year to enroll in Virtual Loudoun HPE with Driver Education.  

    Health and Physical Education 10 WITHOUT Driver Education

    Students who take Health and Physical Education 10 WITHOUT Driver Education with Virtual Loudoun may choose to enroll with the state Driver’s Education program at a later date. See information on the State’s program website VADETS .  (This enrollment is NOT a part of Virtual Loudoun and fees apply)
