    Welcome Families!

I am excited to start the 2020-21 school year and meet my new students. This year is very different from all the other years. There will be both new opportunities and challenges. I look forward to being creative while navigating our new learning platform called Schoology, and I am hopeful that we will eventually move into the classroom. We are going to have a fantastic year filled with lots of fun learning and new experiences!

Just a little about me...I was born in Vietnam and immigrated to The United States of America in 1975. My family settled in Texas where I eventually earned my Bachelor of Science in Education from The University of Texas at Austin. Hook'em Horns! I then started teaching 6th grade Math and Science in Dallas, Texas. From there, I moved to Monterey, California and taught Kindergarten. After a couple of years, I moved to Virginia where I taught First Grade in Fairfax County and earned my Masters in Education from George Mason University. I then started a family and was able to stay home for 12 years with my two daughters, who are now entering 9th and 11th grade at Potomac Falls High School. This is my fifth year at Horizon Elementary teaching First Grade.

Through the years, we have lived overseas in both Tokyo, Japan and Bangkok, Thailand. During my free time, I love to garden, read and spend time with my family.

I look forward to an amazing year in First Grade. Let's get started!!! See you online!
