Nancy Stevens Welcome
The LCPS Gifted Education Office is moving the 2020-2021 gifted eligibility process to the fall of 2021. This decision was made to ensure that the process is safe and equitable for all LCPS families. Curricular enrichment opportunities designed to develop talent will be offered for students during the first marking period. Screening and identification will begin in November. Virtual information sessions will be held in the fall to share information with LCPS families. At that time, families can follow up with their child’s gifted resource teacher with questions.Mrs. Stevens, Spectrum
As a native of Loudoun, I graduated from Loudoun County High School and obtained a business degree from JMU. One husband, two dogs, and four kids later, I decided to change career paths and have never looked back. Adding a degree in Business Education from Shepherd University, I began my 2nd career at St. Joseph’s School in Martinsburg, WV, teaching computer applications and 4th grade WV history. I came back to Loudoun in 2000, added my gifted endorsement have been here ever since. (Somewhere along the way, I also added three sons-in-law and 5 grandkids!)
This year, I am excited to be teaching Spectrum (Loudoun County's Gifted and Talented program for grades 6-8) here at Harmony Middle School. In May of 2014, I completed the next step in my chosen career and obtained a masters in Education Administration supporting my desire to learn about all aspects that govern the education of my students. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling and babysitting the grandkids with my husband of 36 years.
As always with myself as well as my students, I promote life long learning. In the words of Albus Dumbledore, “It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be.”
Equity Statement: I denounce 100% of all acts of racial slurs, hate speech, and hurtful remarks online or in class.Staying Informed

Parents are able to see each of their child's classes, including assignments, calendars, and notices. There is a link to Schoology in Phoenix.
Phoenix is the official grade book for all Loudoun County Public Schools. Spectrum does not grade; however, I do assess your student's work according to our Spectrum assessment guidelines. Those assessments are delivered to you /your student on a Semester basis. All Spectrum student work is completed and kept in your student Spectrum portfolioPage updatedReport abuse
