As a native of Loudoun, I graduated from Loudoun County High School and obtained a business degree from JMU. One husband, two dogs, and four kids later, I decided to change career paths and have never looked back. Adding a degree in Business Education from Shepherd University, I began my 2nd career at St. Joseph’s School in Martinsburg, WV, teaching computer applications and 4th grade WV history. I came back to Loudoun in 2000, added my gifted endorsement, and have been here ever since. (Somewhere along the way, I also added two sons-in-law and two grandkids!)
This year, I am excited to be teaching Spectrum (Loudoun County's Gifted and Talented program for grades 6-8) as well as facilitating and choreographing for the drama production here at Harmony Middle School. In May of 2014, I completed the next step in my chosen career and obtained a masters in Education Administration supporting my desire to learn about all aspects that govern the education of my students. Outside of school, I enjoy operating a wedding venue in Harpers Ferry, WV with my husband of 31 years.
As always with myself as well as my students, I promote life long learning; because, in the words of Albus Dumbledore, “It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be.”
