Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Fox

Hello and welcome to Room 7! My name is Valerie Fox, and I am delighted to be returning to Pinebrook Elementary for the 2020-21 school year as a Kindergarten teacher. This is my 18th year teaching, having taught for 13 years with Fairfax County Public schools as a learning disabilities teacher prior to moving to Loudoun County in 2004.  I am dually certified in both elementary and special education.  I earned my Bachelor's degree from California University of Pennsylvania in Elementary/Special Education and my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Pittsburgh.  As you can probably tell thus far, I am originally from the Pittsburgh area but have been living in Northern Virginia for the past 29 years.  That being said, I am a die-hard Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates fan!!

I am a longtime resident of the Stone Ridge community and can often be spotted walking the neighborhood or shopping at Harris Teeter. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking and reading. I am also mom to my 21-year old son, Austin.

I hope we will have an opportunity to be together at some point in Room 7 this year.  To quote Dr. Seuss (one of our favorite authors in Kindergarten), "The more you read, the more things you will know.  The more that you learn, the more places you'll go!" Our journey is underway!!
