•            About Mrs. Douglass

Mrs. Douglass is very excited to be here at Lunsford teaching 8th grade Physical Science. She attended William & Mary where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.  After doing DNA research for three years in Rockville, MD, she returned to W&M (Go Tribe!) to get her Master of Arts in Education, Curriculum and Instruction in Secondary Science. During that time, she also worked for W&M at their marine science school (VIMS) doing DNA sequencing of MSX and Dermo, which are diseases affecting oysters in the Chesapeake Bay.  Mrs. Douglass spent her first year teaching in Montgomery County, then another 13 teaching in Fairfax County. All of those years were in 7th grade science.

Outside of school, Mrs. Douglass enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.  Don't be surprised if you see them around the community as she also lives in South Riding.  They take advantage of all this area has to offer, from sporting and theater events to hiking and museums.
