Welcome to Tuscarora HS Earth and AP Environmental Science!
Earth Science will look at the properties of Earth systems including science methods, measurements and mapping skills. Specific investigation in Astronomy, Geology, Oceanography, and Meteorology will be covered involving labs and projects. Class materials and assignments will be posted in Schoology. Research Earth Science will teach Research skills required to progress in research level classes throughout high school, and will require additional time in research and writing scientific papers. Earth Science is the foundation and bridge between Middle School and High School science!
AP Environmental Science, or APES, will investigate the connections between earth's systems and people. APES is a college level course designed to teach critical problem solving and application of environmental concepts. There will be frequent labs and outdoor activities, technology applications, and required understanding of Earth Science and Biology content. Debate and investigation in current issues and environmental stewardship will be discussed, analyzed, and assessed in preparation for the APES exam May 14, 2021. Tests and Quizzes will be often and many with multiple choice and free response questions. Diligent work outside of class will be required to be successful in AP Environmental Science.
I look forward to a great year!
