Dr. Michelle Phillips received her bachelor’s degrees in English and Philosophy at Williams College. She taught high school English for 5 years in Massachusetts while completing her master’s in English at The University of Massachusetts, Boston. In 2013, she received her doctorate in English from Rutgers University, where she specialized in Modernism, African-American Studies, and Childhood Studies. Dr. Phillips has taught a wide range of college-level courses in writing and literature at Rutgers University, Anne Arundel Community College, and Howard University. Along the way, Dr. Phillips has published numerous scholarly articles in the top peer-reviewed journals in her field. Her book, Representations of Childhood in American Modernism, was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2016.
