Mrs. Eva McCleary

Hello! My name is Eva McCleary and I am so excited to be a part of the Trailblazers family! This is my first year at Discovery and my first year teaching in Loudoun County. Previously, I worked 8 years in the private schools of Arlington Diocese. My journey to the classroom is pretty interesting. I graduated from JMU (go Dukes!) in 2008 with a degree in kinesiology with the intention of working with college athletes. Through a series of fortunate events, I began teaching PE for pre-k to 8th-grade students. I then fell in love with the classroom after substituting a couple of times. I decided to pursue my masters in elementary education through Western Governors University and graduated in 2012. After receiving my degree, I began teaching 5th grade and remained in that position for 4 years. Currently, I am pursuing my doctorate of education in transformational leadership and will finish in 2018.

Originally, I am from Alexandria. Last summer my husband, Ian, and I bought our first home in Ashburn.  We have a dog named Brody whom we love and have spoiled rotten. In my spare time, I enjoy working out, doing anything outdoorsy, cooking and spending time with my family and friends.
