Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to Fifth Grade!!!
Hello! My name is Mrs. Szady (formerly known as Ms. Chatfield) and this will be my third year with the Loudoun County Public School system. I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching from James Madison University. I have teaching experience in Loudoun County Public Schools, Rockingham County Public Schools, Augusta County Public Schools, and Stanton City Public Schools. While at RCPS, I attended their Tech ToolKit Academy and became proficient with popular IPad applications Aurasma, Educreations, and Explain Everything. I enjoy finding new strategies and teaching techniques to help my students achieve!
Some of my hobbies include reading, searching Pinterest, going hiking, studying martial arts, and I started my Pokemon Go journey over the summer. I enjoy spending time with our dog, Gloves, and my dwarf hamster, Mouse.
This year I will teach three sections of Writing and Social Studies. I’m excited to engage my students with the newest teaching methods and resources that are available: Pinterest, Youtube, and other social media have made it much easier to incorporate technology into Reading, Writing, and Social Studies lessons. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I’m looking forward to my third year at Arcola!
