Mrs. Brianna McArthur
Hello! I am very excited for the 2018-19 school year. This will be my third year at Trailside Middle School and I am very excited to join the 7th grade History team this year!
I grew up in Arlington and went to Yorktown High School where I played soccer, basketball, field hockey, cross-country, and indoor and outdoor track. After graduating from Yorktown, I attended Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and studied Classical Studies with minors in Religious Studies, Art History, Latin, and Classical Languages and I played field hockey. After finishing my undergraduate degree, I felt I couldn't leave Virginia Tech just yet and stayed to earn a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and Secondary Language Education. Currently I am studying for comprehensive exams for a second Master's Degree in Greek and Latin through the Catholic University of America. Prior to teaching at Trailside, I taught in Arlington County and with Upward Bound.
I enjoy spending my free time being active (in sports and outdoors), reading, cooking, making really nerdy connections with friends, and traveling. I grew up with DC Sports and will cheer all DC teams, but especially the Washington Capitals and, of course, my Hokies.
