Ms. Kelly Hoag

I am so excited about beginning my 8th year of teaching with the sixth graders of Trailside Middle School! This year I will be co-teaching in the Math classrooms as well as teaching sixth-grade Math. I cannot wait to show my students how exciting Math can be and show my students how they can relate to the material. 

In 2015, I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies with a minor in Special Education from James Madison University (GO DUKES!). The following year, I earned my Master's Degree in Special Education, also from JMU. 

I am originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and now live in Loudoun County, but will always be an avid Philadelphia sports Phanatic! When I'm not teaching, I like to bake, binge-watch TV shows, exercise, and travel.

Throughout the school year, I hope to build relationships with all of my students by learning about their interests, likes, and dislikes, as well as how they learn and how I can be an effective teacher. I believe that every student has the ability to learn and be successful. I hope to develop confidence in my students by pushing them to their fullest potential and watching them succeed.
