ART - Lori DeMark (Grades 6, 7, & 8)
My name is Lori DeMark and I am currently in my 23nd year of teaching art. I started my career teaching elementary art in Gallipolis, OH. My path then took me to Tucson, AZ where I taught art education courses and supervised student teachers at the University of Arizona. While in Tucson, I also taught middle school art at The Gregory School. I have spent the last 12 years teaching art in Loudoun County. This will be my 12th year at Harmony Middle School.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education and minor in Art History from the Pennsylvania State University, with previous course work at the Maryland Institute, College of Art. I obtained my Master of Art Education from the University of Arizona. In 2012, I achieved National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in Early Adolescence through Young Adulthood in Art Certification. In 2013, I completed the Appalachian Trail Conservancy - Trail to Every Classroom Program, a partnership with the National Park Service. Outside of school, I am a practicing artist and have participated with the Western Loudoun Artists' Studio Tour.
This year I will teach: Adaptive Art, 7th Grade Art, Art 8, and 8th Grade 3D Design.
