Mrs. Lori DeMark

My name is Lori DeMark and I am currently in my 27th year of teaching art. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education and minor in Art History from the Pennsylvania State University, with previous course work at the Maryland Institute, College of Art. I obtained my Master of Art Education from the University of Arizona. In 2012, I achieved National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in Early Adolescence through Young Adulthood in Art Certification and in 2021 I was recertified. In 2013, I completed the Appalachian Trail Conservancy - Trail to Every Classroom Program, a partnership with the National Park Service. Outside of school, I am a practicing artist and have participated with the Western Loudoun Artists' Studio Tour and the Purcellville Art Tour.

I started my career teaching elementary art in Ohio. My path then took me to Tucson, AZ where I taught art education courses and supervised student teachers at the University of Arizona. While in Tucson, I also taught middle school art at The Gregory School. I have spent the last 16 years teaching art in Loudoun County, at Harmony Middle School and previously Freedom High School. This will be my 15th year at Harmony Middle School.

The 2023-2024 school year, I will teach ART 6, ART 7 and 8th grade 3-D Design.
