Meet. Mrs. NeiMrs. Nei is in her 4th year as a Music Specialist in Loudoun County. This year she is excited to return to Lucketts Elementary School full-time! She is from Millwood, Virginia. Mrs. Nei attended Huntington University in Indiana, graduating with a B.M. degree in All-Grade Choral Education. In college, she performed in the elite ACDA National Women's Honors Choir and toured with the HU Concert Choir, performing on Carnegie Hall under the direction of John Rutter. Mrs. Nei also performed in the role of Cherubino in Mozart's opera The Marriage of Figaro, and in many other roles in Romeo and Juliet, Fiddler on the Roof, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and many others. Her love for theater and music is combined with her love for writing in the many musicals which she has written and directed. At Lucketts, and other schools in Loudoun County, she has collaborated to create rich, educational musical performances for varied age groups at the elementary level.
Mrs. Nei leads the Lucketts Chorus, which collaborates in performances with other schools in the county. Lucketts Chorus has performed at the National Tree in Washington D.C. and in 2018 competed at Hershey Park, where the ensemble was awarded Best Treble Choir in the competition. Mrs. Nei was the founding director of the Angel Chorale at Shenandoah Conservatory Arts Academy, and also directed the Huntington County Children's Choir, serving the community for over 10 years of music education in training young voices for excellence in performance.
