Meet Mrs. Morris
Hi! I am Mrs. Morris, and I am thrilled to call myself a lion again this year as I start my second year at Lucketts Elementary! Before coming to Lucketts, I gained five years of experience teaching fifth grade in two other Virginia counties- Virginia Beach and Fairfax, where I developed my passion for and expertise in this grade level. While I spent most of my life as a Hoosier, I moved with my husband to Virginia Beach shortly after our marriage while he attended law school. Then, we made our way up to NOVA and spent two years saving to buy a home. Last summer, we purchased our dream home and are excited to settle into a new community, church and job for the long haul. This summer, the greatest thing that happened is that I became an aunt (again!)
I come to Lucketts with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Indiana Wesleyan University and am licensed in both Indiana and Virginia. I have attended numerous academy courses, seminars and workshops to perfect my practices in Reading, Writing, Word Study, Math, and Science, and love finding creative ways to make learning fun!
When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading legal thrillers, writing fiction, cross-stitching, running, and playing Ultimate Frisbee. Most of all, though, I love spending time with my family when they visit as well as being with my husband and my Pomeranian, Koda.
