My name is Rachel Regal and the 2018-2019 school year will be my eighth year teaching. I am so grateful and excited to be part of the Falcon staff at our amazing middle school! I began my teaching journey in fourth grade at Mill Run in Ashburn for two years before joining the inaugural staff at Discovery for three years. Becoming an educator has been my lifelong dream so I am absolutely thrilled to continue my teaching journey in eighth grade Algebra & Geometry this year.
I graduated from Broad Run High School in Loudoun County and feel fortunate to be able to give back to a renowned school system. I received both my Bachelors and Masters in Teaching from James Madison University. I have also earned my certifications in Algebra 1 and High School Math. While growing up, I lived around the world in five different countries and have visited nearly two dozen others. Needless to say, I am a big fan of traveling! Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband and adorable goldendoodle, Clyde. I also love watching and playing sports (Go Skins, Caps & Nationals!), exercising, cooking, reading, going to the beach and on new adventures.
I look forward to building relationships with each one of my students and their families. My wish is for all my students to walk through our classroom door with an open mind, willing to grow. I aim to ignite a passion and build confidence in each of my students in mathematics while helping them to see the powerful application of math skills in our day to day lives. Email me any time at: firstname.lastname@example.org
My husband and I will be welcoming our first child this August so I am happy to introduce my long term sub for Quarter 1, Mrs. Jill Hand. Scroll down to check out her bio below! It's going to be an awesome year!
My name is Jill Hand and I am looking forward to teaching at Farmwell Station this fall. I have been a long term substitute in Loudoun County for the past six years, teaching math at various middle and high schools. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree from Purdue University, a Masters of Science degree from Southern Methodist University and completed my teaching certification in Secondary Mathematics at George Mason University. I worked for 13 years in the engineering field before deciding to pursue my teaching license.
My husband, Jeff, and I have two sons, Jacob, a junior at the University of South Carolina and Josh, a freshman at Rock Ridge High School. I enjoy spending time with my family and two dogs (Harper and Colby) and am an avid sports fan. I'm originally from Pittsburgh and cheer for the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins and have become a Nationals fan as well. You can reach me at email@example.com through November 2nd.
