4th Grade Gifted Evaluation Update
During the month of February, the Gifted Education Office will finalize the 4th grade gifted evaluation process. There was a delay in this process in January due to the impact of COVID on LCPS staffing.
All 4th grade students were screened as a part of this evaluation process. Final eligibility decisions will be made this month (pending COVID circumstances). Notification emails will be sent to families of students who demonstrated a need for services based upon a holistic review of performance on ability testing, aptitude testing, and/or portfolio products. Gifted services will begin for newly identified students once the final processing of eligibility documentation is complete.
HCA will continue to collaborate with LCPS for identification of Gifted Services. Please check this webpage and/or the LCPS Gifted and Talented webpage (https://www.lcps.org/Page/211705) for the most up-to-date information. As soon as additional information related to the 2022 gifted evaluation timeline and referral window is communicated, it will be posted at these locations.
The ASPIRE/SOAR Program Handbook will not be updated until the 2022-2023 School Year so as to include the most complete information. Please refer to these updates or email firstname.lastname@example.org directly with questions.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
