Matt Hilsdorf - Physics
Matt Hilsdorf is excited to begin his third year of teaching at Rock Ridge. This is his seventh year teaching overall, having taught physics and engineering in Charles County, Maryland. He graduated from the State University of New York at Geneseo with a BS in physics and math. He also holds a Master of Secondary Education degree in seconday science education from Roberts Wesleyan College. His focus for research was in astrophysics. Mr. Hilsdorf believes in an inquiry driven classroom, where students learn science by 'doing' science. When not teaching, Mr. Hilsdorf also serves as an assistant coach to the cross county team and enjoys many hobbies including astronomy, hiking, music, running, and playing ice hockey.
