Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Kelley Collins
Kelley Collins is a native of Loudoun County. She graduated from Longwood College with a degree in Liberal Studies with a pre-K - 8th grade education license with a concentration in Math & Science. Kelley has been teaching for 8 years. She taught middle school math and science in the county for 3 years before moving overseas. In Tokyo, Japan, she taught the same class of students each year 5th grade through 7th grade. While in Japan, she participated in several PBL trainings, led conferences and was an active participant in "school without walls", a multigrade and multidisciplinary time of learning within the community.
She has been actively involved with MCCS since its inaugural year. In 2014, she began long-term subbing for one of the 4/5 teachers and in 2015, she began working as a Kindergarten/First Grade teaching assistant. This is her second year as the 4/5 teacher. Recently, she has participated in Harvard's Project Zero conference in Washington DC and NASA Space Camp in Huntsville Alabama. With the help of MCCS and LCPS she has continued to improve her education with many professional development classes and workshops.
When she is not teaching, she is going on adventures with her 3 kids, hedgehog and dog. She enjoys anything and everything outside - camping, hiking, or skydiving. While she loves traveling she also really enjoys sitting down with a good book and a cup of tea.
Kelley is looking forward to another great year as a fabulous 4/5 teacher at Middleburg Community Charter School.
