Mrs. Jesselyn Batts - Dean

Welcome Lions!  I am excited to be part of such a dynamic and supportive learning environment and am passionate about supporting students in their academic, personal and social growth.

My career in LCPS began in 2006 when I spent ten years at Freedom High School as Chair of the Social Science department. During that time, I taught Advanced Placement Government and Politics, Ancient World History and Economics.  Prior to becoming an educator, I worked in corporate recruiting, staffing, and training. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Hampton University and a Masters in Education Leadership from George Mason University.   

It has been my pleasure to serve in this community and I look forward to a rewarding year working to maintain a learning community committed to learning, respect, cooperation, high standards, and accountability. I am excited to partner with teachers and parents to provide students with opportunities and resources that will help them thrive during this exciting transitional time.
