Welcome class of 2026! I am so excited to work with you as you begin your middle school journey. This year begins my fourth year at J. Michael Lunsford. Prior to coming to Lunsford I spent ten years at Freedom High School as Chair of the Social Science department. During that time I taught Advanced Placement Government, U.S. Governmnet, World History and Economics. It has been my pleasure to serve in this community and am thrilled to be a part of the JML family. My education career began in the Manassas City Public School system where I taught World History and Advanced Placement Government and Politics. Prior to becoming an educator, I spent nine years working in corporate recruiting, staffing, and training. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Hampton University and a Masters in Education Leadership from George Mason University. I am mother to an adult son, a daughter who is a student/athlete at Boston College and another daughter who attends Freedom High School.
I look forward to a rewarding year working with you to maintain a learning community committed to learning, respect, cooperation, high standards, and accountability. I will partner with teachers and parents to provide students with opportunities and resources that will help them thrive during this exciting transitional time. If you need any assistance, please let me know. I am happy to help.
