Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Heather Banks
My name is Heather Banks; I am a 6th grade Language Arts teacher for the Timber Wolves. This will be my 16th year working for LCPS! I spent the first seven years at Farmwell Station MS. I started my career as an Instructional Specialist and then taught 6th grade US History. Eight years ago, I made the switch to Technology Resource Teacher and spent three years at Eagle Ridge MS followed by opening Trailside Middle School in 2014. In August 2016, I returned to the classroom, where my heart has always been. I love mixing all of my experiences to give my students the best learning environment possible.
Originally I am from New York State, where I attended Dutchess Community College and Mount Saint Mary College. I received my Associate's degree in Elementary Education and my Bachelor's degree in English with a dual certification in Special Education and Elementary Education. I finished my Master's program in Curriculum Instruction with a concentration in Integrating Technology into the Schools at George Mason University in 2008. Learning is an opportunity I rarely turn down.
