• Dominion High School International Trips for the 2018-2019 School Year

    Applications are now available for the spring 2019 exchanges sponsored by Dominion High School. The following trips have been proposed for spring semester 2019 and are pending approval from the LCPS administration.  All costs will vary based upon airfare costs at the time of booking.  Students may get additional information and a copy of the application from any of the teacher chaperones or posted outside of room 401.
     
    South Africa Exchange
    Dates:  February 8-18, 2019
     
    Teacher sponsors:  Mrs. Heather Cox and Mrs. Louise Carter
     
    Students will be hosted by their peers at the Clifton School in Durban, South Africa (an all-boys school).  Students will take part in lessons at the Clifton School, as well as visit their sister school, Durban Girls College, and a local public school.  Students will make formal presentations for students at each school about American culture and history.  The trip will conclude with a 3-day animal safari in St. Lucia, a couple hours from Durban.  This will be the fifth time Dominion has participated in this exchange.
     
    Eligibility:  10th, 11th, and 12th grade students will be invited to apply.  Special consideration will be given to students that have contributed to the globally-focused programs/clubs at Dominion.

    Costa Rica Exchange
    Dates:  February 16-24, 2019
     
    Teacher sponsor: Mrs. Jennifer Rodgers and Ms. Larissa Nunez-Morel
     
    Dominion is coordinating an inaugural exchange delegation to Colegio de Santa Ana in Costa Rica.  8 students will have the opportunity to attend classes and stay with a host family in Costa Rica, as well as visit national parks and cultural sites.  Dominion hosted this school in the 2018 Loudoun International Youth Leadership Summit.  
     
     
    Elibility:  10th, 11th, and 12th grade students will be invited to apply.  Special consideration will be given to students that have contributed to the globally-focused programs/clubs at Dominion.

    French Exchange
    Dates:  March 8 - 17, 2019
     
    Teacher sponsors:  Mrs. Lara Woolley and Mr. Jeff Dunn
     
    Twelve students will have an opportunity to visit take part in a language and cultural exchange to our partner school in Le Havre, France.  Students will also spend two days/nights exploring historical and cultural sites in Paris. 
     
    Eligibility:  This trip is only open to students in upper level French courses.
