Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs Anderson's 5th Grade
Hello! My name is Brianne Anderson. My love of teaching started when I was a kid. Growing up I tutored elementary and high school students. I also taught piano and dance during high school. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University. My minor is in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. While attending BYU, I was a teacher’s assistant for child development in the classroom and childhood and parent guidance courses. Also, while at school, I volunteered in 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade classrooms. As I worked in various grades my love of teaching was solidified. My most recent experience, in a classroom, was teaching 6th grade in Utah. Since moving to Virginia, I have been a private tutor while my family and I adjusted.
Teaching in the upper grades is my favorite! Being able to teach core subjects and life skills is an amazing experience. Martin Luther King Jr once said, "Intelligence plus character, that is the true goal of education." My goal for each student is to leave my class feeling confident in their ability to make good choices and be an upstanding friend—in addition knowing the grade-level content. I chose to become a teacher because I find the greatest joy and sense of fulfillment when I help children learn. I want to help children become the leaders of tomorrow.
