Samuel Wong received his Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance from the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Master of Music in Guitar Performance from Florida State University where he served as a graduate assistant to Bruce Holzman. His teachers have included Aaron Shearer, David Russell, Norbert Kraft and David Tannenbaum.
He has appeared in concerts in England, Germany, Italy, France and the United States and has been an adjudicator for the Florida State Music Teachers National Association Collegiate Classical Guitar Competition in both the state and regional divisions.
A dedicated teacher, he has over 20 years of teaching experience and his students have won prizes in many competitions including the Columbus State Guitar Symposium Competition, the Snead State Competition, the ARTS Competition and the John and Susie Beatty Scholarship Competition, D.C. His students have also performed in many prestigious venues including the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
Prior to teaching at Freedom High School, he served on the music faculties of Troy University, Alabama State University and the Booker T.
