He has appeared in concerts in England, Germany, Italy, France and the United States and has been an adjudicator for the Florida State Music Teachers National Association Collegiate Classical Guitar Competition in both the state and regional divisions and the 2022 Fairfax County Guitar Festival.
Samuel Wong has over 35 years of teaching experience and has directed the guitar program at Freedom High School in Loudoun County since 2007. Numerous students from this program have won awards in local and regional guitar competitions for the past ten years, including the Beatty Music Scholarship Competition in D.C., the Aguado Guitar Competition in Sterling, VA, the Columbus State Guitar Symposium Competition in GA and the ECU Summer Guitar Festival Competition in N.C. Students have performed at numerous festivals and venues around the region including the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. For the past 6 years, the Freedom High School guitar program has also produced 59 All Virginia Guitar Ensemble members.
Prior to teaching at Freedom High School, he served on the music faculties of Troy University, Alabama State University, and the Booker T.
