BWHS Scheduling Program for 2020-2021
(dates are subject to change due to inclement weather)
January 15: Scheduling Information Night for Parents
6:00pm start time for BWHS parents, 6:45pm start time for current 8th grade parents
January 22 – January 28: Department Classroom Scheduling Information Sessions
Teachers should discuss their department’s course options for next year with students in their current classes.
January 29: Scheduling Video Presentations for Current Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors in Advisory
Students will view counselor-produced videos that will review graduation requirements, courses for next year, and the course selection process.
January 24: Teacher recommendations available on ParentVUE
January 27 & 28: Middle School Scheduling Presentations at Eagle Ridge
January 27 – March 1: Students may select electives on StudentVUE and ParentVUE
January 30 – March 2: Individual Student/Counselor Scheduling Conferences
Counselors will facilitate individual conferences with students to select their courses.
Students will review their core teachers’ recommendations and make changes as necessary.
Students will receive a copy of their requests for their parents’ review.
Students/Parents will be able to change electives directly through Phoenix StudentVUE and/or ParentVUE.
Core courses must be changed by contacting the assigned counselor.
February 19 at Noon: Application window closes for Academies of Loudoun programs
(May 4 – May 15: There will be a hold on changing student course requests during AP testing)
May 20: A copy of the Course Selection Form will be emailed to parents for final approval. Parents may change course requests until June 1, 2020.
June 1, 2020: Deadline to change student course requests for 2020-2021
There will be no changes to course requests after this date until “level-change days” in August
(Exception: Student courses may be changed upon the completion of summer school classes).
August dates TBD: Level-Change Days
Student may request to change a core academic course level (academic, honors, AP, dual enrollment) on these dates prior to the start of school.
Elective requests cannot be changed.
***Once school begins, level-changes will not be considered until marking period one interims are distributed***
