My name is Shirell Ashwell. I was born in Alexandria, Virginia and attended Mount Vernon High School. I graduated from Radford University in 1991 with a degree in Education. I have been married to a wonderful man, Michael, for 25 years. We have 2 daughters, Madelyn and Lauren. Lauren is at James Madison University finishing her senior year!! Madelyn graduated from Winthrop University and works in West Palm Beach Florid. Our home is not an empty nest - we have a new fur baby - Ollie joing our family this past August.
In the Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) department at Potomac Falls, I currently teach Teachers for Tomorrow - Teacher Cadet, Introduction to Early Childhood, and Introduction to Culinary Arts. In addition to my teaching roles; I am the CTE Department Chair. I am super excited to work with the young adults at Potomac Falls and instill in them a lifelong love of learning.
