The 2019-2020 school year marks Ms. Lough's twenty-first year of teaching, and her fifth at PVHS. Ms. Lough teaches uses Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) to work with groups of students on their reading, speaking, and writing skills. She loves it at Park View, and can't imagine going anywhere else.
Ms. Lough has a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from Fairmont State University with a specialization in Music Education. Shortly after graduating, Ms. Lough moved to Kentucky and began her teaching career working with students with special needs. While in Kentucky, she earned her Masters of Education degree in Special Education from Northern Kentucky University. Ms. Lough moved to Northern Virginia in 2003 to be closer to family and has been teaching in Loudoun County Public Schools for 16 years. Ms. Lough gained her certification as a Reading Specialist through Shenandoah University.
Ms. Lough is a co-sponsor of the Battle of the Books and enjoys sharing her love of reading with the students at Park View. In her free time, Ms. Lough loves to hang out with son Garry (age 15) and daughter Emily (13). An animal lover, Ms. Lough and her family have fostered many animals and have adopted several of their rescues, including two polydactyl cats (Ernest and Oreo).
