Early days teaching in Loudoun County...can you figure out my costume's "slang" phrase?
Caitlin McAteerEnglish 10 & Dual Enrollment
Ms. McAteer is pleased to be back in the building at Loudoun County High School, teaching in person to sophomores and seniors in the 21-22 school year. This year marks her 8th year of full time teaching in the classroom, and although technology has advanced rapidly she still believes in the power of pen and paper and books with covers. Previously she taught at the middle school (Morgan Academy) and college (Shepherd University) levels. After graduating with a B.A. in English Literature from Wheeling Jesuit University, she worked as an editor and did freelance writing and editing work. She returned to get her M.A. in Irish & English Literature and Culture at Boston College, where she managed the office of the African & African Diaspora Studies office under Drs. Cynthia Young and Rhonda Frederick.Ms. McAteer comes from a long line of writers, and is very picky about grammar and syntax. She believes firmly that students' abilities are improved across all disciplines when they spend time reading beyond the classroom. She is one of the Faculty Sponsors for the LCHS Gay Straight Alliance and is always happy to talk with students and parents who are interested, or who have questions about the GSA!Ms. Mac enjoys a wide variety of activities including gardening, traveling, hiking and of course, writing and reading.
