Tim Straka - 6th grade Dean
Mr. Straka hails from western Pennsylvania. He attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA where he graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in secondary education/social studies grades 7-12. While at Duquesne, he was also a student athlete member of Duquesne University's football team. He earned his master’s degree in Education Administration & Supervision from the University of Virginia.
Prior to working as a dean at Sterling Middle, Mr. Straka served as a dean at Seneca Ridge Middle School. Before that, he taught social studies classes for eight years at Manassas Park Middle School and Farmwell Station Middle School. He served as a summer school coordinator for Manassas Park City Schools and as a head high school track coach for MPHS. Mr. Straka was an assistant varsity football coach for eight years at MPHS and Briar Woods HS as well.
He believes every student has a path to success and he is ecstatic to support students at Sterling.
