Miss Hillary Drumheller
Welcome to 1st Grade!
I am thrilled that all of you will be in my class this year! We are going to learn so many new and exciting things together. This is my second year of teaching 1st grade at Pinebrook Elementary. I have previously taught 4th grade at Pinebrook and I absolutely love being a Pinebrook Puma! I think that 1st grade is the best because we get to learn how to read, add and subtract, and lots more!
I am very passionate about teaching all subjects, although Reading is my “FAV,” and I enjoy using technology as much as I can. In fact, you can check out our classroom blog at Drumheller 1st Grade, I’ve got some fun websites for you to peruse.
I also think it is very important to work together as a classroom family. We will be spending a lot of time together so it is important to treat each other with respect, kindness, and compassion. I know that each of you have a different brain, which means you think and learn differently. It is my job as your teacher to help you grow as a learner and as a person of good character.
Want to know a little about me? When I’m not grading papers or planning lessons, you can find me out and about exploring new places/restaurants or walking Raleigh somewhere around Loudoun County and DC. I grew up in Pennsylvania and attended college at California University of Pennsylvania and graduate school at Duquesne University. I live in Reston with my boyfriend, Donal and our Goldren Retriever, Raleigh.
I can’t wait to have an exciting year with all of you!
